Work Tuff Gear Lamigo Fixed Blade
Work Tuff Gear Lamigo fixed blade, aimed at the serious outdoors pursuits and survival type situations.
Made from Bohler's D2 (K110)
and at a HRC of 57-59, with a serious convex ground edge to a sabre grind.
Big beefy blade, sabre profile and a convex edge with a sturdy spine, make the Work tuff Gear LAMIGO one serious piece of outdoor tool, fit to be used a survival knife and heavy duty camp knife. |
G10 textured scales (a range of colours is offered), however, I swapped the black ones on my knife for some bright fluorescent orange coloured ones. My rationale is that a survival knife intended for civilian usage can make good of having a brightly coloured handle in order to lessen the chances of misplacing the knife should it not be returned to it's scabbard; just like a pair of reading glasses getting lost and one spending maybe hours looking for them. You certainly will be hard pressed to loose this knife with handle scales this bright. (but if you don't like this option then other more demure colours are available).
Textured G10 scales |
Generous thumb gimping and a very comfortable grip making swinging the LAMIGO safe, as it doesn't want to leave one's hands.
Thumb gimping and an spine which is acute enough |
The Work Tuff Gear Lamigo came deadly sharp out of the box, with a great convex ground edge. The fit and finish was excellent too. The blade is finished with an anti-reflection oxide treatment. The weight distribution along the blade is good too.
Anyway, the Lamigo is being flogged in the Aussie bush/jungle right now just to see if it can live up to it's intended applications as a large sturdy knife.
