RAIDOPS Tx TACTICAL HATCHET

RAIDOPS TACTICAL HATCHET MODEL Tx

I'm really liking this RAIDOPS COMPANY IN KOREA.  Andy Kim the man behind these cool designs has just released another new product in their already cool tactical line of equipment. RAIDOPS are making excellent equipment for law enforcement such as breaching tools and have serious credentials in this arena. Andy has a military background, so doesn't surprise me.
Those of you who are already familiar with my blog here and the video channel BushCampingTools maybe have seen my reviews on 2 of his current folders  the AQUILO SRN and the EDCK and a medium sized fixed blade knife the Soldier Spirit RD and a type of neck knife the LJ6GPMT. All of these knives had excellent fit and finish and I was especially impressed with the Titanium frame lock AQUILO SRN.

The RAIDOPS Tx tactical hatchet.

Now we see a small hatchet called the Tx. It comes with an excellent Kydex carry system and a Tek Lok belt clip
Tek Lok belt clip included

The belt clip comes unmounted so the user can choose whatever side they wish to mount the clip to. There are three stainless steel Phillips heads included in order to do this. These screws are inserted into metal threaded holes within the Kydex scabbard.

G10 scales, Blade steel is  BĂ–HLER made premium D2 grade. The grip feels secure and comfortable during swinging motion.

RAIDOPS' LOGO, THE surface finish is TEFLON

A blunt end pommel, good and safe, no sharp points. Complete with lanyard hole

Hammer head and gimping along the spine for a very secure slip free grip.

Hacking into rock hard 2 year old seasoned plum wood!

Hammer head for some serious bashing!

Sturdy milled construction

The scabbard appears very well constructed and designed for easy secure in and out and there is an added safety strap too however, the large "click" heard when replacing this hatchet is very reassuring of a secure grip.

First Impressions
Right, so I quickly chopped up some small diameter branches (dead and seasoned cherry and hazel) and sharpened some spikes up (much quicker of course than using a knife) but I will be thoroughly testing out this small hatchet over the coming weeks and seeing what I can and can not do with it. It feels kind of handle heavy but I won't judge it fully yet as I've only been using it for the last 30 minutes or so. It is being marketed under their Tactical line up. It almost looks a bit "Ice axy"! in the head only- well sort of!

Real Intended purpose

The TX is more of a CQB tool (as in defence). I'll be exploring some of these aspects soon!
